The great-looking sequel to Outrun-like retro racer Final Freeway is out, and looking good!

It would be shame to just throw it aside. We're not talking a complete graphical overhaul here, but adding "Arrow" controls could be that very worthy "last update ever" for the first FF.
Unfortunately it's not that easy.
FF needs to support iOS 3.1.3 (if I remember correctly) and needs to run well on older devices.

At the same time, the latest iOS SDK that comes with Xcode supports only iOS up to 4.3. To compile again the game for older OSes some extra work is involved.. and it all takes time.
Then, we'd have to put in the new feature and test it on old devices, which frankly I currently don't have ready for use.

It's not rocket science, but it's extra work that I'd rather put on new games.
Also, the arrow controls, which I definitely like myself, was never a major feature request outside this forum.. that doesn't mean that isn't a good addition, it just means that most people may not see the point to get a game update just for that.

I've found the wheel to work just like a slider. Works great for me.

To the developer:

Thanks so much for a wonderful game, I mean FF2r just hits a soft spot in my video game heart. I love this game, it's a mad crazy deal at $.99!

I loved FF1 but FF2r takes the whole experience to the next level. Wow. Bravo guys!

Nice, that there are arrow touch controls now. Would be nice, if they would be added to the first final freeway with an update.
I did it (beat opponent at every stage on Expert Mode) on my third try, it wasn't "easy" but not impossible. Coasted across the line more than once.

It was an absolute joy though! I mean, damn, I cut my teeth on games like this back in the day. I can't even count the hours I spent playing Top Gear on the SNES, Top Gear 3000 anyone?

That's why I love this game so much, it brilliantly captures that racing and puts it right in my pocket.

I would love FF3r to take on more content, like upgradeable cars and stuff like the old Top Gear games, but really FF2r is an amazing arcade throwback that really shouldn't be missed!

Some of the best fun I've ever had mashing a glass screen. Epic Win!

We're hoping to add more stuff to FF2R sooner rather than later.
At least one extra car would be nice

We're still crossing our fingers with the sales. We'll definitely add more things.. it's just matter of how quickly we can recoup the development costs.
TA support has been fantastic! But the App Store is crazy with competition nowadays.

Thanks for the support ! \(^o^)

Love this game! Ive had the first one for a long time but this is a quantum leap in quality!

The sense of speed in this game is just great, and yes it brings very fond memories of past times with the old snes.

Would love to see unlockables like car colors or clothes colors ETC.

Endless mode? Race randomly available branches as far as you can before time runs out (slowly ramp up traffic, or base it off of beating the foe).

A splash screen or some story on who the Foe is and why he's there (like the YouTube video on your site).
