And now the new version of this game appears to be gone from the app store.

I wonder if they will do yet another re-release now. If so, I hope they handle it a lot better. This was a mess, full-stop.

Apple handles account changes... strangely. This was probably caught up in such a situation. Funny that you can change an app name in an update, but if you change your account type (personal/business) or change publishers/company name you get hosed. Several examples of this posted here in the TA forums.

In several cases, developers have either made the "new" game free for a day or come up with some sort of compensation for owners of the original game (i.e. have the new game detect the presence of the original app or detect previous save data / highscore data on OF/GC/etc.) but in this case the "new" app is already free. I just hope those ads go away if you buy something. (Haven't tried it yet - I've still got the original on.)

I thought the original re-release was due to changing from self-publishing to a different publisher. Who knows why it's gone now and if it will release in full paid mode, with IAP, or with iAds, as in the most recent update before being pulled.
