Not seen the phone versions but on ipad the animation and graphics are superb also the game shows just how well something like Panzer Dragoon could play on touch screen devices.

Yeah, I haven't experienced any jerkiness with the animations, and think they look fantastic. And after the update yesterday or the day before, it runs just as smooth on my 4th gen touch (which is surprising considering how often newer games crash and have frame rate/lag issues on it).
Actually, one of the first things I was really impressed with the first time I started up the game was the birds animations... |

Finished! (the same day it came out)
Good: Unique gameplay on iOS. Intriguing story that hooks until it ends. Has a Shadow of the Colossus feel where you battle boss after boss until you defeat them all, very good indeed. Game has its on rails combat side and its free roam exploration part. Nice upgrade system that makes you search around for diamonds in order to be a better Crow. Nice graphic engine (would like to see how it is on the new iPad) that good even on an iPhone 4, with solid framerate. Nice challenges that gives the game a little bit better longevity Bad: The game is short, I beated it on 1h.20m with several breaks and pauses. So I estimate like 50 minutes in total, or less (please keep in mind that I played the BETA and knew exactly what to do in the first two bosses and didnt got the "beat the game in less than 35 minutes achievement) Final rating: 4.5 out of 5. Unique game on iOS that have very cool combat and story |

I am at a loss to understand why people claim to enjoy this game [iPad retina]. At first I thought it was astroturfing, but people really seem to claim to enjoy, now I am not so sure. What is the appeal? It is just flying around aimlessly looking for things, and having fights where you flick your finger back and forth. It is completely mindless and dull. So what if the graphics are excellent?
Seriously, I was going to ask Apple to return this because I thought I was a victim of astroturfing on the app Store. But you are saying people really enjoy this game? Why? In case anyone cares, my favorite iPad games are Beat Sneak Bandit, Lume, and Windosill. You have to think to solve those games, and they provoke thought themselves. This is like the polar opposite.
