Thumbs up New image added to the v1.1 Gallery

I've added a new image to the v1.1 Gallery - Mayhem Lobby with Chat window.

Players will be able to chat in the Mayhem lobby with other players in that game while waiting for more players to join.

The game Host decides when he/she wants to start the game and whether AI will fill empty spots that humans haven't joined yet.

Default More gallery images

I've added more images to the v1.1 Gallery.

The new multi-player game Lobby shows both Skirmish and Mayhem games available to join on the one screen, so if you are just wanting to join a game, you only have one place to look.

Also, private games are now listed in the lobby list and passwords are entered directly into the slot.

Another image shows that hosts starting a Skirmish game ( and Mayhem of course) can set the number of Waves for the game, 20, 30, 40, 50 or Unlimited waves.

Thumbs up Cubemen v1.1 - Arrives June 21st!

I am happy to announce that the massive Cubemen v1.1 update is launching on June 21st!

A version X.1 update might not seem like much to shout out about, but I think you will all be blown away by what is coming in Cubemen v1.1 :-)

Cubemen v1.1 will still allow cross platform network games for both Skirmish and Mayhem modes though iPad players will only be able to host or join up to 4 player games in Mayhem. Desktop players (Mac App Store, Steam etc) can host and play up to 6 players games in Mayhem.

Here is a list that includes all the key features, only excluding the little things that could have filled a page by themselves!

New Mayhem Mode
  • 2 – 6 player Online (or mixed with AI) gameplay on a new set of 6 maps (more maps to be released in future updates)
  • Individual or team based games
  • Host decides team selection and whether AI will fill empty player slots
  • In lobby chat system for players waiting for a game to start (Mayhem mode only)
  • iPad players can only host and join up to 4 player games (Sorry)

Cubemen Customisation
  • Customise both your units and enemy units
  • Select from 12 different colours
  • Select from a bunch of additional textures ( ninja, eyepatch, skeleton etc )

Improved Network Games
  • Network games are now never cancelled when a player disconnects
  • AI bots will take over the dropped player(s) and the game will continue as before

New Levels
  • 6 new Mayhem levels
  • 3 new Skirmish levels
  • 5 new Defense levels

New features & Improvements
  • New Sniper unit (SID). Deadly tracer bullets, massive range but low health.
  • Improved unit selection on maps
  • Set the number of waves for both Skirmish & Mayhem games (20, 30, 40, 50, Unlimited)
  • Set the AI difficulty for both Skirmish & Mayhem games for those that want more of a challenge
  • New improved end of game screens with game stats for Defense mode and ladder for Skirmish and Mayhem games
  • Added [Join Game] button to the main screen and created a brand new lobby system that shows both Skirmish and Mayhem games on the same screen for easy game joining
  • Re-made the private game system to now be a password for a game. All games are shown in the lobby and those that require a password have a padlock and allow for the password to be entered for immediate joining
  • Revised Enemy Boss rain attack
  • The Level colour strip now matches your Cubemen colour selection
  • New Info button for Skirmish and Mayhem games that when on show’s player names above towers and extended enemy info, but when off, shows minimal enemy info for less screen clutter
  • 17 New achievements to earn
  • Ability to set a "pause" between waves in Skirmish v.s. AI games or have the waves spawn non-stop
  • Ability to see your NPC units path to enemy base target in Mayhem modes

Improved Performance
  • A lot of optimisation and re-factoring has gone into this update to improve performance and allow for faster updates in the future
  • iPad players should notice improved performance on heavy/large levels.

And lots and lots of bug fixes :-)

Cubemen v1.1 will be released on June 21st (just a few more days) - I can't wait until you can all get your hands on it.

It's been a mega update to develop and I am really excited it's finally (almost) out!

Only have original iPad, otherwise I'd be all over it.... any chance iPad 1 will ever see Cubemen compatibility?

Woo hoo! super excited about the v1.1 update!! As a person who follows iPad developer news, how has Cubemen been working out for you financially? I can understand if you're reluctant to share that information. I'd normally feel awkward asking, but lately it seems that more mare iOS devs are revealing the behind-the-scenes to encourage (or discourage) future developers.

I'd love to know how this game is doing!

Why hasn't there been an announcement on the front page of TA for this update? After all, a lot of other crappier games get touted out everytme they sneeze or fart. This is a massive update, c'mon!
