hmmm i heard the AI is still really cheap in this 2nd game compared to the 1st. As in they keep getting the cards they want

Sometimes on other occasions I get the cards I need to play a flush or straight

I just noticed the Sword & Poker games are gone from App Store again. Odd tactics with this one.

I had Sword & Poker (1 or 2, I can't remember), which I purchased, on my old iPod Touch. I dropped my iPod Touch and broke it. Now I'm trying to get Sword & Poker (whichever) onto my wife's iPod Touch, and it seems I can't because it's not in the app store. This is rather vexing. I feel like I am entitled to it, since I paid for it.

go to the purchased Section of the Home tab in iTunes... you should be able to see a list of everything you've downloaded, even if it's not on the appstore..

i think... I have a few games on my list that aren't on the appstore anymore and i can download them... try there

They stay on your purchased list to redownload as long as the company has paid their yearly fees to Apple. I'm assuming the reason they showed back up in purchase lists a few days ago and more recently to purchase again is that the company decided to pay the developers fees.
