Beat Boxes is now available on the App Store. It's my first game, and I'm anxious for any impressions, good or bad. And don't miss out on the free Extended Play version!

Pretty cool game, but the music gets choppy at times, and the "Back" button after playing a level is unresponsive as hell. The song selection menu could be better as well, as you get very little overview of the songs, making the menu feel bloated as well as making it difficult to distinguish songs from one another.

Thanks

Thanks for the checking out the game and for the feedback, Qurao! I've heard a couple times that the menu would be improved if a preview of the song played in the level select screen, would that help choose a song? I will investigate the music choppiness and the back button issue, thanks very much for reporting those. And I will make sure I spend more time testing the game on my 3GS before submitting updates, I'm so spoiled by the "Retina" display that I don't much like using the 3GS anymore but that's not a good excuse.

Good question!

Beat Boxes EP includes only two tracks, and only two difficulty options per track. Both games contain the track "Caustic Rain" by Whitaker Trebella (@wtrebella), but the actual level layouts are unique to their respective versions.

Beat Boxes EP also includes an exclusive track, "Vapor", so even if you have Beat Boxes it's worth getting the EP version for the new track and new "Caustic Rain" levels!

On the other hand, if you haven't yet checked out Beat Boxes, then Beat Boxes EP is a great way to see how you like the game.

Sale coming to an end

I just wanted to mention that Beat Boxes has been on sale for 99 cents for the month of April, but the sale will be ending soon. If the game looks interesting, why not give it a shot while it's on sale?

"It's actually kinda fun!"
