... ... ...

Oh if it's bad instrumental layering than I think you're referring to poor musicianship, not song production.
I actually think the song production is well done because I can hear all the instruments clearly even when using VLC.

WHY so good for???

Do you believe I will some day turn into a metallic vampire if I listen to enough gothic metal?

Nope, not at all. Poor musicianship in my eyes is when the musicians aren't capable of playing the melodies they want to in a proper way. These guys clearly are, therefore I think it's still the production's faul.

:ĐĐ There's always a chance of that happening...

Oh by the way, you know Rhapsody (of Fire), don't you?

But the job of the sound producer is to mix the musicians' music. In this case, the producer would be doing a poor job if they didn't make every recorded instrument clearly audible in the final mix. He clearly did a wonderful job because the instruments sound clear and crisp.
You should blame the musicians for writing noisy pieces of music .

Rhapsody of Fire? I've heard a few albums by the latter (too cheesy when I heard them long ago, my taste might've changed by now).
There's Luca Turilli's Rhapsody as well. Weird thing for a former member to construct a band name so similar to his former band. Have you tried them?

Btw --->Dark Princess - The World I've Lost<--- Melodic Goth Metal! Dunno about you but I'm digging this! The album art looks creepy though (the stare!).

Arguing about this is sort of pointless since I don't think we're ever going to agree. I still think if the producer had adjusted the sound levels a bit there, it wouldn't have come out as noisy as it did.

It's pretty much the same thing. They started as Rhapsody, had to change their name to Rhapsody of Fire, now the band is in two parts - Rhapsody and Rhapsody of Fire. Simple, isn't it? Anyway, you should listen to some of their stuff, it's high quality sympho power metal. The Italians do like cheese, be it in music or on pizza.

I'll check this out later tomorrow. ^^

How about Angra? Familiar with them?

...True... Can't help that I like the music precisely because it's a bit, 'busy' .

Just listened to Sea of Fate. I found it interesting and still find it so. Skimmed more of their songs and brought back some memories - they're still too cheesy and unentertaining for any stretch of imagination.

Nup.

Weird. You find Rhapsidy cheesy (which it is) even though you've posted cheesier stuff several times.

Try the album Temple of Shadows, especially the song Spread Your Fire. It's not symphonic, but very melodic power metal with a slight proggy vibe. I think you might like it.

Nope, it's like the stuff you posted was some cheap cheese from a supermarket - everyone can like it, whereas Rhapsody is some fine parmesan - an aquired taste, but delicious.

I'm guessing that backlog means about 100-150 albums?^^

SPOT ON! Full cream cheese is your mass appeal commercial product that's designed to satisfy (almost) everyone!
Not saying RoF is any worse than the mass appeal stuff, it's just that I have developed anti-bodies to RoF's tune.

Eh no... more like 9. Cleared 'em in no time but... school work kinda piled on top of music so...

I know Booch is not here but THIS CHINESE MELODEATH ALBUM IS SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD!

Haha, I'm not a huge fan of mass appeal stuff, be it music or cheese.

That's surprisingly few. :O

I spoke with Booch, he will check in soon. ^^
