I don't know if this is helpful or not since it sounds like maybe you found the crash issue, but I tried restarting my ipad. The game was crashing frequently before I did that, and it hasn't crashed since. I'm still getting the 'this is the first time you played' issue most of the times I start the app. Restarting is worth a try at least for those having crashing issues.

The iOS version of Slay has a large, fixed collection of maps, but I don't think they are constructed by anyone, they seem to be generated at random.

And just to confirm, the maps in Slay were static and those thrice-damned trees ruined it for me. |

What's the difference between having 200 pregenerated random maps that are more than you can play, and generating the random maps one at a time when you choose to play? It seems just the same, to me. And I still don't get the thing about the trees, they affect everyone the same so why do they bother you? It's one thing the human player can deal with better than the AIs.

For conquest, I don't quite understand how Unrest is generated. Just generally difficult lot to rule with lands changing hands all the time perhaps.

I always took it that the trees were there to prevent sitz-kriegs (i.e. you get confortable owning > 50% of the land, guarantying that you out-produce everybody and can take your own sweet time to do so. While I shake my fist at them, they're not game-breaking. So far I haven't found revolts anywhere near as annoying as the trees - usually one pops up and can be crushed quickly to prevent spread...
Where I think Conquest! could really outshine Slay is that it should scale better - Slay kinda hits an abrupt wall when everybody has top units quickly and you have to be really careful. Only more play will tell. Right now, I think Slay still has the overall advantage in that it very fast to play and though it's got kinda dorky graphics, they are very functional. Conquest has mostly better graphics - but I wish they weren't so blurry at certain points, and I really, really wish it looked like the PC version. (I don't understand how Retina couldn't handle that.) It's got more variety, and if it gets multiplayer (online!?! ) HOLY COW! it would be just fan-damn-tastic. (And yes, I'd throw $1 IAP at Slitherine if they added async online play...)Conquest will get a bit faster to play with the upcoming UI enhancements, but still feels very slow compared to Slay. Also, as I mentioned before, it's got more variety, which should help the game scale better into more advanced difficulties. I don't see how anyone who even remotely liked Slay could turn this one down for $2. |

Is it just me who want to continue playing the game even after conquering more than 80% of the world?
Or, who want to review my own achievement after the end of the game in order to be intoxicated with the victory? I feel a little disappointed when the game suddenly ends and goes back to the main menu at the time when the victory condition is met. ![]() Is it hard to add an option to choose from ending the game immediately after the victory condition or continuing until 100% domination? |
