Here’s the first video of enemies in Food Run. There are a lot of them in the final part of the level compared to most; this was done so I can stress test the enemy system. The final level may see changes from what you are seeing here.

There are two enemy designs so far - the Wee’vil, and Chompy. Wee’vil is one of the first enemies you will encounter, and simply scampers along the ground. Chompy is a bit more dangerous, as he propels himself by leaping forwards while trying to bite. You can kill both these enemies by jumping on their heads, and timing a jump during this stomp will propel your food higher: a game mechanic which opens up the level design to more secrets and hard-to-get items.

Food Run is finished!

Hi guys, Food Run is finally finished and due for release in January. I've changed the first page of this thread to include all the new screenshots, a new video and an explanation of the food chain mechanic.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Release date confirmed: 22nd January, that's next Tuesday... Yikes.

And a couple of early bird reviews:

Edit: best not link to other sites here I guess, probably against TA rules? Anyway, there are a couple of good reviews a Google search away.

Finally finished!
For 69p, Food Run is an excellent addition to anyone’s iOS library and a great example of the complexity that can be achieved within such a simple control scheme. Rather than shoehorn a traditional platformer control scheme into a touch-screen game, Pixels on Toast has given us a game that works in harmony with its host platform. If you’re running iOS 4.3 or above, you really should pick this up when it’s released on 22 January.

Yeah, it's been a whole 18 months in development! Oh well, it's ready when it's ready. Thanks for waiting!
