I didn't buy this app for an update that has advertisements. The folks who didn't pay for it should have ads but not if you've already bought it.

The game has never gone free, of course, but it has had a separate freemium model briefly available, as you noted. But anyone who owns this version has paid for it. When the freemium app was pulled, they didn't merge the users!

That's the impression that app store review leaves, but no one else has said anything yet, which is why I asked before I just go update and possibly regret it (I hate ads in a game).
