Lol, have you watched the movie or did you just not like it? Avatar is the most visually impressive movie I've ever seen IMO.

Yeah, it's crazy 'cause the two highest grossing movies of all time are James Cameron films. (Avatar and Titanic)

Stop watching new movies until you see Avatar, omg, lol. If you're a fan of Hollywood's big-hitters (you are if you're in this thread), Avatar is THE movie to see.

^This^ +1

Seriously, I'm not your typical "Joe-I-Like-Everything-Big-And-Shiny" guy (I'm looking at you, Michael "More Explosions!" Bay), but Avatar blew my mind.

It's been a long time since I have quite literally lost track of time during the entirety of a film... And the use of IMAX? Wow. Perfect.

I actually have no interest in seeing Avatar, from what I heard it's ok, but one of the reasons it sold so well was because it was pretty much the first movie that did 3D right.

I might get around to seeing it, but for the time being, I don't have any plans to.

If you're not into the story (I wasn't particularly) and you can't see it on the big screen, I wouldn't bother...

I've seen it several times and yes, it is visually impressive, but the story is a bit generic and Sigourny Weaver can't act and Stephen Lang (and Michelle Rodriguez for that matter) is always pidgin holed into the same character. The only star in the movie that showed any acting talent was Zoe Saldana, without her the movie would have been awful. Was it a good movie, yes, was it the best, no. The only saving grace the the whole thing was the visual experience and Zoe's role.

Agreed. Personally, I don't know how interested I'd even be in watching it again at home. In the theater? Sure. The story was a bit of the old, "same old same old," but visually? Yeah, it was pretty good visually.
