I'm really enjoying this game but could you please please please add an option to move the touch controls to the middle of the screen?
I really don't understand why so many developers think it's a good idea to put the controls so low on the screen,it makes it almost impossible to play lying down. It works fine on an iphone ,but for ipad touch controls should be in the middle or at least adjustible to ones own taste. Thanks in advance! |

I've been playing the game for a few hours and loving it. I like that this game encourages exploring and the gameplay is really fun. Looks beautiful on an iPad 2.
Would be nice though if there was a translucent mini map on the left side to know where we're at and where we're supposed to go. It's a little annoying reaching on top of the iPad screen just to pause and see the map. The control placement for me is fine on the iPad...it's the most comfortable for playing iPad games, but sometimes when I'm flicking my movement to nudge the plane, it doesn't register, and a couple of times recently I tried to pull up qucik to avoid danger and it didn't register and crashed the plane. Maybe I'm hitting outside of the stick? But why have the stick in a static placement? Why not have it dynamic like in some other iOS games? Like tap anywhere on the left side of the screen to move and tap anywhere on the right side to change the speed. I think controls for touch gaming works best if the player doesn't need to look at the controls on the screen and a dynamic control system would be perfect for this game. Well I think these suggestions would be good ideas to implement if possible. Other than that, it's a fine game and the design of the worlds so far (I'm on the 3rd world) are great. I hope this game does well, I'd love to see another one in the future. Definitely a must buy. Last edited by jeffyg3; 05-26-2012 at 05:09 AM.. |

This game is so good. SO SO good. So far I enjoy the search/find levels the best (I unlocked four paint jobs so far). And I still can't believe how good it looks (playing on the new iPad). Makes me want to get a cable to plug it into the TV to see how great it looks there, too.
Looking at the stage options I keep thinking the game will be very short but after watching the trailer again there appears to be a lot of stuff I haven't seen yet. I started with the touch controls but found the hit spots too small -- I like how some twin stick shooters "re-center" the stick wherever you place your thumb down on the screen. Now I use the tilt controls and I find I have MUCH better control over the plane. Having never played Pilot Wings (was mentioned elsewhere in the thread) I hope future updates bring some new planes, like some of the whacky ones in Crimson Skies and maybe even some online multiplayer (air races/dogfights, etc.). Well, I'm off to write a five star review of the game... Last edited by Rothgarr; 05-26-2012 at 08:19 AM.. |

Noticed the device requirements were removed from the game description and website. Does it now support 3GS, or are Chillingo just trying not to scare off unsuspecting customers?

Not sure if this was mentioned but there's an extremely annoying glitch in chapter 5, mission 4. Basically, without giving too much away, after the cutscenes you will sometimes (or, in my case, 99% of the time) crash even if there was nothing in your way going into the cutscene.
Great game, though. I've beaten it, gotten all the golden monkeys (that took A LONG time) and all the map pieces or whatever. I have 123 stars total out of 125. The last two missions where I have 4/5 stars are incredibly difficult >.< One is caused by the glitch mentioned above, and the other is one of the ones where you need to collect 30 things in a short amount of time. |

If so, that took me a few tries, too. I used to use virtual controls but then fount the tilt allowed me to fly way more accurately. Also, take your time. When I rushed I always crashed. But I found that by taking my time I still had, like 30 seconds left. that is, of course, assuming you are talking about that level and on Normal difficulty... |

Chapter six, mission 3. It's the same idea except that you have thirty seconds less. And you'll be flying in circles to avoid obstacles.

"I disagree. I like controls on the bottom of the screen as I don't play lying down I guess. I play reclined. I think you may be the minority."
I haven't seen any studies about how people use their ipad but most people i know use it the most in bed,or lying on the couch. I've seen on several threads that i'm not the only one struggling with controls on the bottom. I just would be nice to have the option to place them where you want. A lot of games have that option so my guess is it won't be that hard to implement. |

I don't have problems with the controls at the bottom but I also don't think it's unreasonable to want to be able to move the controls, especially when there are just two... Either that or have them position wherever you place your thumbs (like some twin stick shooters do).
