Absolutely - the current version will be upgraded to universal in the near future so you can go ahead and buy it now

I actually removed universal functionality before release because it wasn't done well enough. IMO - better to have nothing and then do it really well rather than do it in a crap way and risk lowering people's impression of the overall app. So - it will be in soon and when it is in - it will be very high quality

Awesome. That's exactly what I wanted to know. Nothing worse than buying a game in hopes of a universal update only to see an eventual separate iPad version

Just downloaded this game a couple hours ago I'm hooked. Been wanting to get Pandemic 2.5 the last couple weeks but have been hesitant due to some of the reviews. I saw this game and something told me to get it and I'm so happy I did! Good job and I can't wait for more features to be added

I really enjoyed Pandemic 2.5. Is it worth me picking this up too or is it essentially the same mechanic ?

I picked this up but haven't played yet. This is from the developer's site though:

I developed and stuck to a clear vision of what Plague Inc. would focus on and how it would evolve the game play whilst avoiding the territory that had been claimed by Pandemic. The end result: a game with radically different mechanics and a more narrative driven, strategic game play that pushes the genre forwards

Well players so far are really enjoying it so I would recommend getting it. I am biased though - Royce - once you have had time to play - can you come and give your thoughts

Never played this genre before, but downloaded ist today to give it a try.
As far as I can tell, it's well done. Tutorial eases you into gameplay and I had to finish my first game in one go, because it kept me so interested. Pacing seems great, too.

So far, i'm very happy with the game and can't wait for the universal update.
