Very good advice, this. I just hit 5-star (midway through Y13) and even my most powerful dudes who have been with me since the beginning are getting one-shotted by basic monsters on a consistent basis. I'm also still getting new adventurer classes, which seems useless at this point in the game. They're so weak that they typically can't survive a single battle, so leveling them to maximum to open it up to other players will be nearly impossible. Also, the classes themselves seem pretty worthless...is there any actual benefit to having a clown or a cook? I'm a little disappointed that mages are so weak as well. You'd think that in typical RPG fashion, mages would start off wimpy and become mega-damage dealers at the end. But even with multiple magics available, their attacks are still incredibly weak. You're better off with just sticking with maxed out knights and archers, even if they aren't gaining any levels.

How many times can you expand your perimiters? I am a 3 star town and ran out of room to where I cant put in a school or anything... I hope they allow us to expand more than once or twice? How do we exactly expand or is it only when they say you can?

If anyone can figure out just what stat affects their hit rate (magic? luck? dex???), mages may prove to be quite a worthy investment. Any help here would be appreciated. Mages become twice as worthy once you can develop spellbooks from your cauldron, for one common reason - healing magic. Anyone with knowledge of healing magic is capable of resurrecting(!) downed adventurers, and *will* put that as a priority in battle. It's really in my best interest to ensure as many people know healing magic as possible. I haven't yet tried getting my mages to change jobs. If they can still cast their magic as, say, a knight, then things will become *much* easier. (of course things would be easiest if I turned my adventurers into Kairobots, but an adventuring party ala The Order of The Kairo just doesn't feel right for me :/) |

Lol the kairobot class is the strongest I've seen. When i come back from work I'll get some screens. Also, for mages try increasing their spirit and luck. That seems to be what they run on.

*spoilers*
i got 5 stars in year 8.. now i'm in year 11, and the game feels like a chore.. all cauldron stuff is researched, i got all my guys armed with the hero armor and hero crown and demon axes... I just have to get enough medals to upgrade all my guys to the kairo class (2 of them are that class right now), the new guys joining my village don't have any new jobs, i think the final job was the 'hero' job.. and i'm affraid the final boss is that robot dino, but he (and all other enemies are really too easy)...now its really boring , nothing left so spend money on anymore.. the first part of the game was great though!

Not sure if the jobs are in order, the latest jobs I got were the King & Princess (real princess, not princess Prin). But Hero is probably the most combat-worthy job out there (not counting Kairobot).
@trundley: Thanks for the tip, spirit seems to do the trick. Now my mages & wizards are among the most feared adventurers in the realm (or at least the greatest force multipliers if they have knights to act as their meat shield). Also, I've discovered that anybody can cast magic once they learn it. I turned all my knights into pseudo-paladins by giving them healing spellbooks, and combat has never been the same. It's truly an awesome sight to behold. |
