It's a shame this isn't a classic platformer. That and the F2P kill it for me, sadly. And no Retina for the iPad...And jumping can be very unresponsive. Just my two cents.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just reached level 50, and was a little dissapointed that you can't go any higher. I think it would be neat if you could level up infinetly. You could even add a leaderboard, so players could compete to see who can get to the highest level!

As for F2P, can you describe why this is a turn off for you? It's possible to complete the entire game without spending anything (many already have), and in fact the majority of people who play Mega Run don't spend anything at all. It's a tough fact to swallow from our perspective after 18 months of work to develop Mega Run, but this is entirely normal for any F2P game. People don't like to spend money, as it turns out, and they like to get things for free. We like the fact that anyone can play the game without shelling out upfront, and we can reach far more people this way, but there is a strong stigma with F2P that we are trying to work around. Do you have similar feelings about the F2P elements in Jetpack Joyride for instance? We have some ideas for this, and the strongest option we're looking at is to allow players to "prestige" or restart from Level 1, like COD and other games, which will come with new bonuses, awards, achievements and unlockable characters. What do you think about that kind of idea? |

2- That would be awesome! I've seen games do things similar to this, and it's always been really cool. I think it helps getting people to keep playing the game.

I like the prestige idea. Reminds me of prestige classes in DnD which has no significance to this whatsoever, except that it revamps things when you reach a soft peak on your character.

Count my vote for the prestige option! I like that idea!

This game is seriously awesome. Been playing it since it was released and living every moment. I usually pass on freemium games, but this one seriously kicks ass. It's also balanced perfectly, no need to buy IAP if you just play the game, although I would have gladly paid for this game as-is. I downloaded this and and zombie carnival at the same time, and mega run gets more play from me. Fantastic!

This really is a neat little game. However I'm personally turned off by IAP and the trappings that come along with it (although I do see why creators use IAP). I wouldn't mind purchasing the game outright instead of being bugged about paying for more stars every time I die. I did end up buying 1.99 worth of MP, but I'd gladly pay more for the game outright.
My first post here, hopefully I got my point across. Last edited by Ryne; 06-19-2012 at 03:34 AM.. |

Your comment on balance is the flip-side to what KevinS was saying - people seem to like the greater challenge in Jetpack Joyride, but others enjoy the steady progress we have implemented currently (which also means we make less revenue from IAP). Quote:
Also good to hear the positive response to prestigeing! |

Instead of balancing the current gameplay, how about a normal (current) and hardscore mode (Redford runs faster, gaps on the ground are wider and platforms farther apart, more enemies, less power ups?) Or missions and challenge modes? To beat devs runs (and see their ghosts, xD) See how far you can run (if endless mode is implemented), missions are always fun, when it comes to endless runners, they have some pretty good ones (Jetpack Joyride, Subway Surfers have some good missions)
