Or you could let everyone have avatar's, you know, like EVERY SINGLE OTHER FORUM IN EXISTANCE?! But you know, I guess not making sense is good. I guess not being able to tell who is who is good.

how about people with more than say 2500 posts can set their own avatar.

HOWEVER the avatar would only be half the size of the avatar of a dev. That way one can quickly see who's a dev and who's not and highlight long time users/regular posters.

Every forum I've ever seen that has any type of reward tied to post counts seems to only encourage content-less shit posting to reach that mark. If it were a toggle I'd have disabled the display of post counts years ago.
