hmmmmmm.... i think i'll try that- im just into ch. 2, I think, so maybe start leveling the archers for now. The thing is, Knights take much more crystals to summon, compared to basic soldiers, so how do you keep them alive for longer? And did you level Pr. William any? In my first game I put a bunch of levels in thunder- it was alright, just spamming the magic soon as it hit 10 lol.

Eventually, the final spell allows you to summon 1-X random soldiers (the X upgrades from 2 and goes up by 1 every two levels). So you can get extra knights that way. And with tactics, you can get crystal faster. Knights just have so much more health and armor...I dont know if you can level the basic grunt enough to be comparable, even if you convert him to the mini-tank form at level 10. Its probably possible, but I dont know what it would cost in gold compared to what it costs for knights. It costs a ton to get knights to where they need to be, so there could well be a cheaper solution. But I dont know if you can get buy the later bosses without a really strong tank.

Early on, I did still need grunts to supplement the knights, but later on the grunts become unnecessary.

Wizards might be ok for your ranged dps, but the summon archer spell is pretty handy in the early chapters, so that is a bonus to going with archers.

You definitely have to level Prince William pretty constantly so that he can collect coins, and in fact at level 10 he converts to one of two forms and gets an extra spell. I went with the higher armor form and got the "Golden Hammer" spell which is an AOE that you can level up like any other spell (i.e for gold). Not too useful since the cooldown is long...probably better to put the gold into one of the lower cooldown AOEs.

You eventually need a solid AOE spell. I used the firewall spell (whatever its called) but some of the other choices could work too. Firewall is usable every 15 seconds. The Dragon costs 60 mana and doesnt do more damage, but it lasts 5ish seconds to 3ish for firewall. I think firewall is probably the better choice, but some of the lower tier spells might work too (bazooka maybe).

I really appreciate those suggestions; makes gooood sense!!! Indeed, I overlooked lvling the Prince both times, that does make sense. I've been lost in Epic Astro Story since it went on sale yesterday, but when that allure wears off, I'll try a new game with those guidelines in mind. And you said you beat the game too? Your patience must be legendary!!!
