Only cause it wasn't addressed in the in upcoming thread - there are quite a few models that are almost to the pixel ripped out of Torchlight and if memory serves me right WoW.
That necromancer looks awfully similar to undead in WoW. Spider models look like the ones found in WoW. Those aren't the only ones either. Its not so much as the borrowing of the idea as using the same model structure, 27 seconds into the video = this from Torchlight

I'm going to assume this won't run well on the iPad 1, if at all.
Which is probably just as well, as the Facebook style stamina already has me turned off. "Hey Mike, wanna run a dungeon with me?" "Sorry, already used my stamina for the day..." Yeah, that's not really sounding like a good structure for this type of game. |

All of the monster assets and every dungeon tileset, as well as voices, and most sound effects, are direct rips from Torchlight. We're having to contact Apple about it, so, just a heads up - this may not be available for long.
Recognize these from the video? http://torchlight.wikia.com/wiki/Ordrak http://torchlight.wikia.com/wiki/Goblin_Hunter http://torchlight.wikia.com/wiki/Troll I noticed our- spiders goblin rangers goblin suiciders the final boss our Troll boss our standard Troll our Spectre champion Goblinhounds In fact, I didn't see ANY monsters that weren't ours. Also featured are the Lava tileset, the Sunken Temple tileset, the Black Palace tileset, the Mines tileset, and in some of their other videos, some NPCs from our town, including the child NPC. That's terrible they've stolen all your assets. I'm staying well clear of this game

That's very disappointing to find out; I won't be downloading this one after all.
I'm holding out hope that Project Dragon - The Roar from the Dungeon ends up being the quality MMO-ARPG for mobile we're waiting for. Of course, I wouldn't complain about Torchlight for iOS

Someone up here listed that they were upset about no single player. If there was single player, exploits would be made and any in app purchases could be made for free by jailbroken iPhones

There's no such game called "Torchlight" on the iOs platform, so no one is borrowing or copying your IP. (Take some notes from Gameloft). Personally, I can't wait to get this game as it looks awesome. If Runic games is upset or jealous, why didn't you release it? Obviously it can be done... |

What does GL have to do with anything? GL doesn't steal assets. They make games that are similar to popular games. They don't steal copyrighted art and music. This game clearly steals 1 for 1 the assets from TL. You can't steal copyrighted work and profit from it. Apple should have no problem taking this down.
People really shouldn't speak about things they know nothing about. Again, you can't steal art, 1:1, and profit from it. This is common sense and has nothing to do with what Gameloft does. |
