Chaos Rings, HD or no

Is the HD versions of Chaos Rings series worth getting? I'm read mix reviews on the internet. Some people like the HD graphics; some people say the HD graphics are same as playing in 2X mode and look just as pixelated and blocky. Any opinions? Thanks.

I got CR I and II for ipad on the recent sale, I had CH I for iphone since launch and sadly yes, the graphics look almost the same without the black borders and the oversized layout of 2x mode.

Still a great game though.
