Wow that's shady as hell. Totally changes my perspective on this dev. Unless... is there any way they could have removed the IAP and tried making it a paid game, then decided to go back to demo with IAP?

but that's not a great thing to do, because users who would have bought the full game when it was paid, will not be able to reinstall without losing the full game unlock. Tilt to Live is a pretty well known game, I doubt the dev would need to resort to doing such things. |

Lol I posted about this earlier today and realized it was an IAP and told a mod to delete the thread

I could have done without the needlessly provocative flame-bait part, but sure...

If that logic prevails, then if they raised the price to counter the hack, then shouldn't they have made the IAP free?

And never mind that dropping their in-app unlock would have required significant development effort, and that it would have taken weeks to rearchitect and to get approved. Had they magically snapped their fingers and simultaneously dropped the in-app unlock, their game would have been suddenly free, in its entirety, for every user who ever downloaded what’s essentially the trial version of this game. Why would they do this? This is a premium title, and hopefully it’s making premium dollars. Why would they give it away for free, legally, to everybody, when the whole reason I’m speculating that they raised the price was to avoid giving it away for free to a tiny subset of users that might’ve otherwise pirated the app. Think. |
