You sure you aren't upgrading the game shops? That takes them out of play for a while, and thus villagers will get unhappy. Other then that, 10 squares away seems to be the max for villagers, so may want to spread out shops a bit more.

How do I add GC friends that aren't Facebook friends?

Does anyone know which house type nets you a character with the potential to wear a Link hat (yellow hair, green hat, humanish ears)? I know it's possible because a friend sent a villager wearing it over. I'd ask, but I found her name on a comment board elsewhere, and for all I know he could have become hers via the hotel glitch. That's another funny thing about that glitch: the resulting freeloaders can be sent to others' hotels since it's random. Ironically, he's staying in the hotel like he should be.

Right now I've got the Wood Cottages, Tree House, Tipi House, 1001 Nights Palace, Viking House, and Fort House. I would think the potential would be in the Medieval characters given the Zelda series' setting, but I haven't changed my male Medieval villager's hat ever since he got a sweet blue and gold king's crown. The house is ready to upgrade, though, so I may get lucky.

So, any ideas on the origin of the hat?

Thanks HennyBenny! I'll keep trying then, though my characters are above that level.

I'm trying to complete a quest and I have to have four moonstones. But there hasn't been any full moons for a week. If someone could add me in GC and send me some moonstones it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You can "Gift" an item to a friend by going into your 'Bag' and sending it to them (Menu>Bag>Item {select the item}>Gift>Scroll and find their name, "Gift").
