I know I'm late to the party but since I downloaded the game I literally can't put it down...and I'm not a fan of Tower Defence game.
I'm absolutely LOVING it.
In particular I love the fact there are just 4 types of towers (plus upgrades) and 'soldiers' to place (the cool down ones)...feels almost like a little RPG/RTS.
Attention to detail is amazing, all those little animations are awesome.

I can't decide which version to get - regular or HD. Is the HD version up to date with everything?

I have both, while the iPhone version is great I think the iPad version is nicer and the game is more enjoyable.

I have the hd version, AppStore says IAP heroes are top sellers. I wanted to buy a hero via IAP but i can't find where, just in game star option....... ???
