My vote would go to Crimson Gem Saga.It is still among the best rpg on the appstore with excellent storyline , characters and looks good even at 2x on my iPad(It is among the very few games which I have completed)

I liked it, it has great presentation and, yes, a very nice story, but the combat is/very quickly becomes boring and the controls are horrible. Also, I have heard that it hasn't been updated for a while and crashes on iOS5+.

Didn't yet play the other 2 games, so no opinion there, though I certainly intend to pick FF Tactics once I clear my backlog a bit.
