I'd pay $40 for a AAA title on iOS. A real one, mind you, not just a lazy port of a current or old game. The trouble of course would be with the controls, and most AAA titles on other platforms just wouldn't translate well enough. For example, something like a Civilization V would work, but Skyrim would not.

I would hate to be the developer of the first $40 iOS game !!!

Imagine all the hassle you would get from annoying customers ! I mean you see the problems devs get with 69p games ('1 star review - not happy, the game crashed once, AVOID') etc or ('1 star - had to wait 7 whole days for an update, not happy !) etc.

With a $40 game some iOS gamers would expect 100000000 levels or hours gameplay for their money.

I don't think it's sad at all. I love that the major game developers are still struggling to find a foothold and that iOS gaming is still a frontier where literally anyone can potentially have a hit product. iOS has been a huge boon for indie gaming, both in creating a market for develops to sell their product and creating a huge audience for indie games that never existed before. I'm really in no rush to see the keys to the castle handed over to EA and Rockstar and Square and the other huge development houses that own the console world.

At the moment I can't think of any existing game that I'd pay that much on iOS devices. The ones I'd pay a lot of money for can't at the moment be realistically ported. The game should have a long playtime, a lot of captivating content and/or a large game world.

No because a game with that price must be very big, and therefore take up a lot of space on my device , which is the issue as I wouldent want to delete a £40 game but would have to as I have limited space

FF: Dimensions is going to cost $28.99 for all the episodes. Anyone going to be getting it?
