What a waste...
It's even sadder for older gamers like me because the Liverpool studio was formerly known as Psygnosis, I'm quite sure the other grandpas in here will instantly recognise that name

I remember Psygnosis, loved them when I had my C64/Amiga. Lemmings, Shadow of the Beast and Barbarian were some of the games I loved most. I remember them and Bitmap Brothers most when I has a young teen.

Anyways, for those not familiar with Psygnosis, check out what games they created:

I read somewhere that the majority of employees are being absorbed into other Sony studios, and that the studio itself would still get used- just not for making games. Hopefully they still make WipEout games- if not, I'm okay with it. The series had a long run. At least they're keeping most of the talent though... Still saddened by this news.

The 1.80 update will be released tomorrow complete with new home screen controls and PS1 support.

Though it will be interesting to be able to play FF7, all of these features should have shipped with the system day one. Ultra basic things such as the PS3 displaying Vita status and trophies are still left out. Maybe with the PS4 launch...

Ok, now this is just depressing. Here is SCEE's PS1 list: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2012/...ssics-line-up/
