How DO you guys make revenue with a free app and optional IAP? If you don't mind me asking.

Well, first, we don't make much
Then, mostly with advertising. Finally, some people do find value in the optional IAP as they feel it enchances their experience

Umm I don't know? Maybe permanent double jump?

Also, to show how much I like this. I'm comparing this to Rolando 2 This is like Rolando 3 if they made one. Controls need some tweaking. I don't mind tilt, but it needs some tweaking.

Wow, Thanks! We actually discovered Rolando * after * coming up with the concept for Square Planet. I did include one obvious reference, the square that tilts on itself to move left & right.
Don't you feel like Rolando is more of a puzzle/reflexion game while Square Planet is a platformer/action type of game?

Hi W4TSON, really sorry I never answered to your question! Completely missed it

I bear good news though! Update 1.3 is available now and does bring Game Center achievements.
We were super psyched to add the much requested '"Complete a level without dying", a brilliant Touch Arcade forum suggestion.

Here's a full list of what updates 1.1 to 1.3 have brought:
  • Time Attack mode, collect 3 stars at every level
  • Game Center leaderboards
  • Game Center achievements
  • iPhone5 full screen support
  • The game stopped crashing on 3GS, iPod Touch3 and iPad1
  • Many improvements, bug fixes, etc.

Oh, and here's a little teaser of our next update...

Yeah! I'm currently #1 across the board for fastest times. Would anyone else like the first leaderboard, and therefore the leaderboard that determines your rank for the game, to be your total time for all levels?

I've got all achievements except for the buy something from the store one- I've always disliked the inclusion of achievements like this. As far as I'm concerned, if you're able to pass the last current level without dying, you deserve the opportunity to unlock all achievements without having to buy it. Oh well.

Speaking of the last level, while trying to pass it with no deaths, I discovered that if you restart the level while you're in an alarm zone, the level restarts with the red time counter at the top and the red hue on the screen stays as well.

I'd be up for buying something from the store, but I don't have a problem with playing to obtain coins, and I don't like the idea of putting money into a game and still having ads. Would you consider including an IAP for $1 to turn off all sorts of ads within the app? That would be something I'd buy.
