I did a few pages back in the muck go over the graphics for ipad retina but it'd be pretty hard to find now...

2d assets are a mixed bag, they go from slightly blurry to very pixelated. 3d is nice and sharp and rich but textures are of a fairly medium quality. Scrolling of environment is also a bit jerky.

Overall though it looks really nice style-wise, just some quality problems here and there that probably aren't noticeable on non retina screens.

As for touch versus virtual, both are fine. I found movement easier with touch and combat easier with virtual, defaulted back to virtual.

Okay, just finished. Game is seriously short but does open an Arena mode (which it seems you have to walk to rather than select). I'm going to be fair and say while I think the content that is there is really nice, there are a lot of aspects that feel rushed or not refined enough. It's not fair to say that this is a pitch game but at times you get that impression - one map with different boss zones, rushed story, some odd hit detection. There has been a lot of work go into this but I can't help but feel they needed more time as everything doesn't really gel.

Alpha Dog have shown that they have the talent, they just need more time to make a bit more out of it. You get the impression they had grander intentions.

i thought the graphics were nice. playability was ok. but for a hack n slash the biggest let down is that there's no story (during gameplay) and no loot and equipment. i liked orc:vengeance better

Game is on sale for $0.99. Read that a new update is incoming any moment too:

- 8 unique warhammers to unlock and slay your foes
- 6 additional levels to conquer
- 3 new enemy types; Mara Bomber, Beastkin Lobber, Wraith Mauler
- 2 new boss fights; Frost Shade and Ymir Warlord
- 2 additional challenge arenas that feature unique gameplay and leaderboards
- 1 new "Rune of Power" that increases speed and damage

PS: Why is the Appstore rating so low suddenly, and lotsa people complaining of crashes? Hasn't happened to me before.

i think orc vengeance would be best, this one is not bad but still needs more work in my opinion in the animation department, a way to zoom out the camara because is too close, a running animation as well since it looks odds that you see the monsters and all running and you are walking, make the rocks solid because you can pass walk most of them and some artworks assets that are not retina and look kinda ugly

If things like that doesnt bother you go for it, if it does i would say go for orc since a new update is comming shortly that is going to add more difficulty, levels and a virtual joystick

The combat here is a bit more dynamic that the one in orc since you have to use the defent skill oftend with the big monster, in terms of duration i think is a bit longer like 5-6 hours kinda
