Judging by the video this doesn't look that great to me! Not much sense of speed, either. I can do without this title. I was getting bored just watching it.

It's great for people like me, who loved Daytona USA/Sega.They promised to add touch control, so I'am hoping for the update. It's not very playable with the tilt control right now.

Hi All,

Firstly, let me apologise for the lack of info regarding further development of Speedway Racers. Its been a bit of a disaster really.

We had an outsource team working on the programming and of late it has been frustratingly slow getting anything out of them (recently months have gone by with no work done due to them working on other projects) They were good when we had their full attention though. But, recently we managed to acquire the source code and we have been working on it ourselves. But, firstly we need to work out where everything is and how to write around the existing code.

We will have an update out before Christmas. The current progress is:

- Drastically reduced the install size (50mb download and saves up to 100mb+ on your device once installed)
- Superior quality on the textures dues a better compression system
- An increased sense of speed
- Main menu and Hud changes
- iPhone 5 support

What we hope to get in to the pre Christmas update

- Full touch screen support
- Control tweaks all round
- Physics updates
- Car model tweaks and basic reflection effects on the player car (all cars if possible)
- Sound updates (more background sounds and existing ones a easier to hear)
- Add a few more background effects (lens flare, camera flashes in the stalls, etc.)

Unlikely to make it in to the next build but will be added as soon as possible (aiming for the new year)

- Add another track
- More cars on the track

Again, apologies for the lack of info but the game is in our hands. We plan to give the game and everyone who supported us the respect they deserve.

Thanks

Simon Dhillon

Sorry to hear about the issues, once this has touch screen support i'll probably buy it

The name still confuses me ! Speedway in the UK are basically 'dirt bikes' going round and round a small circular track. So at first i expected to see bikes ! Game does look good though but waiting for touch screen support

Being from the UK myself I understand the confusion , the reason we named it 'Speedway' is mainly because that's what most Nascar tracks are called.

Take a look here

So it just seemed to fit, I could have called it Raceway Racers but it just seemed wrong (thinking about it we could have used an 'RR' logo and mooched some downloads from the Real Racing crew, but that wouldn't be very ethical lol) Actually the Original name was 'Speedway America' but not all the tracks are set in the good old US of A
