I have to disappoint you, because you did your math wrong...

In the EU (including the Appstore), all prices have to be shown with taxes added. This is enforced by European law, as far as I know. But this doesn't apply to the USAppstore. The prices here are always shown without taxes; they are added after you've hit the buy button. So the complete price of an app in the US Appstore is around 10% more, $1.08 or $1.09, if I remember correctly.

You can now do your math again.
