Sparkling Poker - use your iPhone or iPod instead of cards

We are about to launch a new type of poker game, using bluetooth connectivity to connect up to 5 players. All locally, so no internet required, just play with your friends. What do you think?

After a surprisingly short review period, Apple decided to accept 'Sparkling Poker' into the app store. It is currently only available in the Canadian app store, but as soon as everything seems fine, we will launch it worldwide. Check it out! :-)

Thanks! We think the idea is good and will work both for gaming on the go as well as family card games (in front of the television or around the iPad) or casual games with friends.
In principle, you can fully play the game unlimited in tournament mode for free. The only thing you need to do is to find three to six iOS devices, and you are good to go..

Sparkling Poker is proving to be a popular app for gaming groups with a mixture of devices and no local network. The Bluetooth communication really makes this into the ideal 'traveling' game. You can play for free and have none of those cards flying around or record keeping with any chips.

Sparkling Poker is proving to be popular in situations where you don't have (full) internet coverage. The Bluetooth gaming is great. But the fact that you can't play alone and you need at least three devices to play, is proving a big hurdle, despite the game being free. Should we add a single player mode? What do you think?

We are working on removing some of the hurdles that stop people from starting to play Sparkling Poker. One of them is the size of the download: due to all the videos in it, the game is too large for a 3G download, it will need wifi for the initial install (and after that, no internet is required). We will reduce the size of the app for the next version, so this is no longer the case.

We are working on a redesign of Sparkling Poker to make it more accessible. As a first step, we have reduced the size of the app to enable 3G downloads. It is still a free app on both iPhone and iPad, and it is still the first local multiplayer card game app around! Check it out!
