I hope they know of this and are planing on fixing it soon. This game is to good to be played with such a massive optical flaw.

Chrono Trigger had a bug fix update already. But as far as i know it was nothing as major as laking iOS 6 compatibility.

Release 12-08-2011,
Version 1.0.1 2-14-2012

I dont know what they fixed but one of the bug reports was that the gametimer kept running while the App was minimized.

So i assume that we will get a fix on this this year unless its something major that requires tons of manpower. I wonder how iOS6 was able to cause this anyway... the only thing i can see might be a lack of RAM now that iOS sucks 300mb just for running with no real extra tasks..., but i am not a coder so who knows what might just be different in the iOS dev kid now.

Did anybody try Chrono Trigger on an IPad 2 and how did it look? I have heard a lot of moaning re: "vaseline filter" on the visuals and some other stuff that supposedly makes it much inferior to DS/SNES original (music?), is there actually any truth to it?

Can't speak for the iPad 2, but on the 4th-gen iPad the game isn't bad at all, especially considering that it is iPhone-native. The gameworld backgrounds and sprites are definitely filtered, heading towards blurry (for comparison, if you've seen/played the game on a SNES emulator, the iOS version uses the equivalent of the "interpolation" filter), but all of the dialogue, status and menu text is perfectly sharp. The translation for this version is also tighter, more detailed, and generally better-written than the original SNES incarnation.

How are the controls on an iPhone 4/5? I see a ton of bad reviews on iTunes but am not too concerned since they're all from people that have < iOS 6. I've never played CT but want to pick it up on sale if the controls are good enough. I know it's a different style of game, but I thought the controls for FFIV were great.

Personally, I thought that the controls were actually pretty good. I played through the whole game, twice, on y 4th gen touch. I haven't played through on my iPad, but on the iPod, they felt perfect...
