I know what you mean, if there was an official Dungeon Master game on the iStore i would be ecstatic and would moan about this clone. Having this 'copy/clone' as you say is a rip off of a classic, but theres also a lot of games out there which are based on other older games.

But yeah its a tricky one, as theres no official version i dont mind the clones so much.

Also hoping for a iPod/iPhone/Universal build. Dungeon Masters looks great. The developer's other game, Face Wars, is Universal so that's promising. I was trying to find the website for Supe, LLC to inquire but haven't had much luck.

Found out u can get item descriptions if you hover an item on the eye icon next to your gear. Still doesn't say damage, but better than nothing.

Drag waterskin and food to mouth icon to drink/eat.

Any body know what the runes all are? Trying to find ful for the torch, but haven't had any luck. Guessing randomly uses your mp, and fails or you don't have enough skill to cast every time for me so far.

EDIT: torch spell is the first rune then the fourth. Then you click the bar with the runes in it to cast.

Plays good. It's a little archaic being that its so old, but plays as it should

Edit: went over to gameFAQS and found a walkthru if anyone is interested.

The characters in the hall seem to be the same as this so hopefully should work good. Anyways it's a good resource if your gonna compare everyone's stats/ gear easily

Gabrien is correct. This is one of the most beloved games of all time for old gamers. This game at the time, believe it was the last 80's, was ground breaking as Doom, Half-life, Halo, etc to its era. This game had tremendous atmosphere and I believe was the first game to employ first-person prespective among many other new at the time interactive techniques. Dungeon Master is held in the highest reverance by us old school gamers.

I have vivid memories of playing this with my then 5 year old daughter on my lap every evening for about 2 months . It was an unbelievable gaming experience at the time. I will purchase this and hope it still holds some of its magic.

My most memorable moment involves dropping the iron gates on mummys to kill them. Thought that was so cool at the time when I discovered it lol.

Dungeon Master is definitely in the pantheon of all-time great games.

Important note on runes and casting: the first rune you select determines the spell's power; it is not the spell rune itself. So for example, to cast magic torch, you would first select the spell's power/level, (pick from lowest to highest rune from left to right) then select the rune "Ful." •••Spoiler:  fourth rune from the left

Lower level characters won't be able to successfully cast higher level spells. I suspect practicing higher level spells will train skill faster, though since they use more mana it probably evens out, and I'm not sure whether you gain skill from failed attempts.

I'm pretty sure that Franco just called Gabrien old.

Can someone who's bought it, give us a mini review?

Ie is it more or less bug free, decent responsive controls etc etc?

Thanks for the hint on the spells! Seems much easier now.
I got two chests now, I can see what's inside, but can't figure out how to open

As for a mini review.

Its Dungeon master on your iPad. Buy it if you like dungeon crawlers. Controls for playing are smooth as they were back in the day; the inventory and switching items takes some getting used too, and is in real time, so if your looking at your loot and monsters can attack if there are any around.

Straightforward port. No Instructions. After all your characters die, the game crashes and your back to the load screen upon re launching.

But, it's dungeon master on your iPad. Who knows how long it will last?
I'm on the third floor and everything is working great. Like I said, as good as I remember on pc.

The Autobots brought out an app, and couldn't even get their logo correct on the icon.
