Kel there are so many puzzle threads. I've posted so many lists before but ill post a few of my absolute puzzler favs

    Grooh
    Save the puppies
    Colorbind
    Twingo
    Bag it
    Wriggle
    Joining hands
    Toast the chicken
    Zen puzzle garden
    Super monsters ate my condo
    Rope rescue
    Tractor trails
    Girls like robots
    Sprinkfield

Most of these have a free lite version. All of these are quite unique and have an innovative gameplay element. If I was on a deserted island and could only choose 3 I'd pick grooh, save the puppies and wriggle. As all 3 have ALOT of levels. Wriggle has the most. You'd have to be a genius to finish wriggle in a few days.. I spent weeks on it and only got halfway through the hard levels, it goes to extremely hard. The best thing about all I listed here though, is they all have easy levels too.. You get plenty if time to learn the ropes before diving into the hard levels so you don't feel smothered.

Just got started on Puzzles and Dragons this weekend. It's a puzzle/action combination with a party management system, kind of like pokemon. It's kind of like a match 3, except you can pull of crazy amounts of combos and matches, which makes you feel pretty good 8)

Definitely check it out. One of the polished freemium titles.

I would recommend that you try my new game that I developed called Super-Squares. It has the look and feel of angry birds/cut the rope but the gameplay is unique and offers a great challenge.

I also really enjoy Great Little War Game, its at the top of the list for my favorite games all time. + its free ever since they released Great Big War Game.

Bubble shooter and Blitz are both simple but pretty addictive - can't get a word out of my wife when she's playing them...

I agree! Puzzle & Dragons is definitely one of the better puzzle titles right now. The ability to move a gem anywhere within a specified time limit makes this game super fun and challenging. Combos, Combos, Combos! If only I can find a good wiki for this game.
