After playing through the first mission, here are my impressions. I quite liked the feel of the vertically scrolling stage, and felt the overall game mechanic was nice. It kind of reminds me of similar "army" style vertical strollers from back in th 8- and 16-bit days, so nice job there. The atmosphere, sound effects, drop rate - all good.

However I think there are some difficulty balancing issues. The stage itself was rather easy, and I did not see a slow, steady ramp up in difficulty before the boss. Perhaps you can add this in? Extra HP for the enemies ? Or make them a bit faster toward the end?

And then, the boss. Ugh. After gliding through the mission with ease and stocking up 4 rockets, 4 grenades and plenty of laser and machine gun bullets, I still only got the boss down to half hit points before I just gave up. He needs to be reduced in HP. Also, his flying slice attack didn't actually damage me, so there was no real risk to the battle, only tedium.
