Here are some player quotes:

"Enjoying it right now. It hasn't frustrated me at all, which is good. Some games seem to do that. It also has a nice balance. Not too easy, not too hard. But there are some skill parts where it gets difficult. So far, really fun."

"I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I definitely like it as a quick pick-up-and-play game."

"This is a fun little game that you can pick up and play at almost any time. It may look like child's play, but it most definitely requires some skill."

PatrickMartin's comments:

Hi, all!

I just released a simple arcade game for iOS to test the waters of the ecosystem. I'm a one-man studio and am looking for feedback.

I have 20 promo codes to give out. I'll PM the first 20 people to request a code in this thread. Include your country. All I request is that you give me some feedback and participate in the Game Center Leaderboard.

I'm interested in feedback in, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Bugs/glitches
- Game play criticism/advice
- Ideas/suggestions for future versions
- Is it worth a buck?
- Promo suggestions

I'm also interested in becoming apart of the iOS game community and learning the ins-and-outs.

Hope to hear from you all!
Patrick

toxiccheese,
The name's a double-edged sword: hard to forget, even harder to spell. I just thought it was fun. Thptpth is an attempt to spell the noise a balloon makes it's released and the air escapes. It's pronounced by sticking out your tongue and blowing. Thptpth may have been more recognizable when Bill the Cat was big way back when.

Andy C83,
I'm sorry to hear that. Did you try killing the process and restarting? Or even deleting and reinstalling? I tested on my iPhone 4. I didn't have access to any iTouches. I'll try to find one and see if I can fix that on the next update.

Thanks all! I still have few more Promo Codes.

Ok. I assumed that's where the name came from. Cool!

This is a fun little game that you can pick up and play at almost any time. It may look like child's play, but it most definitely requires some skill. No bugs yet on an iPhone five, just a few suggestions:

- take away the movement lock in the beginning.
(Or just make it about 1 second shorter)

- remove the dark black borders on the walls
(my first few games were spent frantically avoiding them

- add black borders to the birds

- (maybe) add some very simple background music.

- add a help menu or a tutorial. I rarely ever read the entire description of a game.

- add a personal stats board with things like top five scores, average score, and how many times you've been popped by birds, anvils, etc.

- back to me never reading the entire description, I would add some more screen shots so people can really get a feel for the game.

That may seem like a lot of faults, but really the game is great just the way it is. Those are only improvements

Time play some more! My high score is 694.(those darned airplanes fool me every time!)

Edit:

I forgot to mention some of the things I love about this game!

- I love the name (very creative!)

- I really love the sound effects (OPE!).

- I think the faces that the red ballon makes are hilarious.

- I love to hate the airplanes and their flight pattern.

- the art has a really cool style and is a lot of fun.

Oh and one last suggestion! You should add rewards for the achievements, such as a different color balloon, different faces, or just facial hair!

A common theme in the feedback for this game is, basically, "more attention to detail". Especially for the graphics. The style should be more consistent and the black outlines should be absolutely consistent. I certainly agree.

As far as the dynamics of the game play, players seem to be having fun and the "balance" of play is good. I'm wondering if adding to this would be welcomed. For example, adding left-right wind or knocking out enemies when boosting.

Also, how important are earning achievements to repeat playing? I fear I've made most to hard to get. Perhaps some easier, lower point achievements?

Thanks again.

Pretty fun game, it gets pretty hard and I like that. More achievements are always a good thing. But, to be honest, it's hard to recommend this for a buck, you should know that there are so many high polished $1 games on the AppStore, your game looks and plays well, but after 3 rounds it get's a bit boring. It should be a free game, so everyone can enjoy it and compete on the GC-Leaderboards. I don't think that lots of people will buy it, not because it's bad but there are just too many great $1 games out there.
oh and my best score for now is 1.193m good luck with the game
