I was going to give this series a try this time around, but I think trying older versions are a better choice.

I'm having no problems progressing without IAP so far. I'm almost at the end of season 2, having no problems winning, sitting 2nd on the ladder and leveling up my character to level 14 with excess cash to spend of $16905 and 103 stars.
My hitter is also batting at an average of .405 at the moment.
I also won the MVP of season 2 as well.

So far I can tell there is no problem with progression and IAP.

Agreed, I loved the 2011 version and probably sunk 50+hours into it. I would right now easily pay 4.99 for a new gamevil baseball game that was a an actual game, not a carnival game like all their content is now.

How long is the My Batter mode this year?

In 2012 it was 9 seasons :/

2011 version was the best one.

This game is NOTHING like 2012... That game just scammed the hell out of everyone... I hated it....

But 2013 is actually playable...

Oh and GCoins are the new in game currency while stars are the premium currency...

PLUS if you download other gamevil games you get 20/10 stars.... 10 stars gets you 8000 GCoins if you chose to do the exchange...

Also, there are a lot of changes... but so far I've seen nothing detrimental to the game... Training now costs money but its a "General" training instead of just 1 stat since you now Level Up(Once you level up, you pick out a stat card that will determine what stats you'll gain upon leveling, and if you don't like that card just use a "re select" and you can try again... dunno if reselects replenish per level or if they are premium, will check in a bit). Upgrades use stones to upgrade certain abilities and such but it applies to ALL future players you make. So it's worth noting that the more you play, the better your characters will be when starting out a new player.

I played II and really liked it and then I tried 2012 just a few days ago and couldn't believe the push to iap, this one is WAY better, I am only 3/4 of the way through season one but haven't felt pushed to IAP yet so thats good.

Ph yeah the quest system! =O i really liked that too... This game has a lot of features form past games done differently now... Im almost out of battery on my SG3 cuz of this game xD
