So... no thread about this yet? Surprised...

I figure since there's no Jailbreaking Forum anymore, would a thread be fine? Mods, please feel free to lock / delete if this isn't the case.

Hmm, so it's out.

Technically jailbreaking tablets is now illegal in the US, but who's going to enforce/catch you? Ridiculous new rule anyway. The end consumer can do whatever they so please as long as they don't do anything illegal with it.

Atm I see no need to jailbreak my iPad, but that might change. Color me undecided.

I decided to try it, but I get an error right at the beginning and it fails. No harm done, but its not working for me. "ERROR: Could not get com.apple.mobile.installation.plist"

iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.

I did it. No problems, really easy and fairly quick.

However, Cydia sources are overloaded now so downloading anything is pretty much impossible right now! I've only managed to download one 50kb tweak in the near 2 hours it's been out!

Reportedly 270,000 people were on the site as it went live.

I just kept trying and eventually it did the jailbreak successfully. At one point I seemed to be stuck at a "Done! Continuing boot..." screen and I almost gave up and forced a reboot, but eventually it continued the reboot on its own. So just be patient I guess. Even then it rebooted a bunch of times and with a black screen. Pretty disconcerting and worrying, but eventually that stopped and now it seems OK. Cydia is there and I'm launching it now and it's preparing the file system (which is taking a while). I'll update if things go awry.

32 GB iPhone 4, iOS 6.1

EDIT: after another reboot (respring?) Cydia loads, but I can't get to Manage Account to login and download previous purchases. I just get a blank page. I think this may just be the load issue so I guess I'll try again later. I really hate that these reboots resprings now have a black screen, only showing the Apple logo at the start, then going black. It makes me nervous.

Woah. Hidden forum.

I still can't get to my account nor have I had success downloading any apps/hacks. I am able to try to install things, but they always fail. Is anyone having any luck?

I have 6.0.1 will I have to update to 6.1 first? Last I heard the SNES and NES emus were not on cydia and I had to go through a whole process of paypaling the guy who did them.
