I was reminded of bit Dungeon by the screenshots also; which is a good thing. Hopefully House of the Lost Mini will not disappoint.

I actually hadn't seen Bit Dungeon before. I'll have to check it out!
House of the Lost Mini is out now everywhere. Let me know what you think! |

I really like House of the Lost Mini so far. It's challenging with a great theme. Hooefully it doesn't get too eclipsed by all the large releases this week.

Game is seriously bugged for me. Walking through a door a second or third time makes the character sometimes get stuck at some hidden border behind the door and you'll have to restart the game. No way to get him released. Happens to me every second try. The game just don't switches to next room. Enemies can also go there and get stuck. You can't pass them then and mostly can't defeat them, but they kill you. Sadly, I can't enjoy it in this state. Last edited by Vovin; 02-21-2013 at 07:22 AM.. |

Seeing as I have only an iPod touch 4g, I probably won't b downloading this based on the comments. However, I feel confident enough from what I've seen of gameplay to address a couple of things:
- It is roguelike in the sense that death is expected and permanent, and loot/layout/enemies are all randomized every time you play. It's not turn based; it's a shooter. - The dual stick control method as well as the action puzzle room to room gameplay are actually very similar to The Binding of Isaac. If you're looking for a game to compare, that would be the closest (in my opinion). |

It's surprising the door bug wasn't worked out pre-release (maybe it's unique to 5G widescreen?). House of the Lost Mini shows some promise so hopefully the developer will continue to polish it into a better game. I really like the shooter and roguelike elements with random world generation and haunted theme. It reminds me a little bit of Zombies Ate My Neightbors (SNES era).

Playing on an iPhone 4S with latest software. I've also experienced the getting trapped behind a wall/door thing. I'm also finding the controls pads a bit small to use comfortably.
Hopefully these issues will get worked out; game seems to have lots of potential. |
