Restore = lose data(saved games)?

I'll be jailbreaking my ipod possibly and I know you have to restore/ put it in DFU mode. Lets say i jailbreak it and I have to restore it will I lose all of my saved data and games? Thanks!

Use redsn0w, you don't have to restore unless something goes wrong. But usually it doesn't.

In any case, backup your data on iTunes.

If you restore at all your data goes bye-bye.

However, if you jailbreak with Redsn0w and you don't need to restore unless you aren't currently running 3.0.

So I'm getting 2 different answers....

so lets say I went and restored my iPod Touch right now will I lose all my saved data (like on games)?

Yes but if you made backup before the restore you can return it to your iphone

Oh ok I see so when I backup it saves all saved game data etc....And before I restore back it up.
