According to Wikipedia, Atari owns Blood. We will try to contact them, but I don't believe they will be interested in it. No. Maybe later.
Off topic but will there be any updates to the Doomsday II downloadable content? I'm hopeful for new weapons and/or monsters. Although it's understandable that General Arcade is busy with this Shadow Warrior project.
+1 for Blood, that was awesome! With regards to this game tough, please make the controls reconfigurable/resizeable. Can't wait for this to drop!
After Shadow Warrior release we are planning to update HacX and Doomsday to support iPhone 5, iPad Retina and iPad mini and add new content. Just wait, let us finish Shadow Warrior first
I thought the source code was lost for Blood (and Redneck Rampage)? Probably difficult to do a port without them, as Blood layers on considerable amounts of stuff onto the base Build engine (I think RR is more of a fork of DN3D itself though instead of baseline Build).
I really don't Know what is the exciment about this, we are getting a port of a 20 Year old game, we need original experiences on IOS, but it seems that the trend todas is making or porting a game with old graphics and call it "retro".
A lot of the older games have way more depth and gameplay than the games of today do. Like Doom amd Wolfenstein for example.
I'd say the problem is that we have too many "original experiences" on iOS as it is; in a world of shovel-ware casual mini-games a 20 year old PC quality game is light years ahead of many iOS products in terms of level design and depth of gameplay over a sustained period of time (Angry Birds is great, but well... levels are short eventually monotonious). Great news! Thank you! Those Doomsday games are gold and must buys for first person shooter fans.
I would probably say the same a year ago. I didn't play those games a s kid (when I got a computer GTA 3 and this stuff was already out). When I saw that there are Wolfenstein and Doom iOS versions, so I said: what the hell, I'll give it a try. I fallen in love with retro games (especially the FPV (first perso n view) style games). Like the guy above said, they have way more depth and they also require way more skill than the games today. I also used to dislike pixel art before, but I love it now. One of my new year resolutions will be to play and finish all the legendary DOS FPV games on hardest difficulty.
If someone wants to play Angry Birds Devour The Cosmos while listening to Justin Bieber, more power to them. Me -- I'll gladly take Shadow Warrior and other classics over what goes for innovation on a touch device.
A lot of it is down to nostalgic memories but also lots of old games play so well. Might look outdated but its all about gameplay to me or we might as well all play Xbox 360 games if you want cutting edge graphics To have in the palm of my hand some classic I used to play on my PC is great. Imagine in 10 years time if someone laughs at you for wanting some favorite game from your past, you would get annoyed
