As the captain of Starship Primary, your mission is to push back the invading alien ships by launching deadly weapons at them. You launch the weapons by marking the fuel tiles underneath them. You can mark a rectangular block of fuel tiles if the fuel tiles at the four corners of the block have the same color. The weapons at your disposal are time bombs that freeze the alien ships at their path, and missle rockets that push them back. Once pushed outside your primary perimeter, the alien ships are destroyed. The fuel tiles you mark also generate additional income. Use the income to buy more missle rockets and time bombs. If the block you mark triggers a bonus goal, your weapons get a significant power-up. As you level up, you face different alien ships, and they can counter attacks with their own weapons! For example, their shutdown rockets can make some fuel tiles unselectable! The higher the level, the deadlier their attacks become. Defeat the aliens in under 5 minutes to win 3 gold stars! Back in May, Flat-UI was all the rage. I thought, why not make a clever game with a Flat-UI design? The result was Primary. Primary is, in my view, a clever hybrid of tile-matching (not match-3), strategy and action gameplay. I deliberately made some aspects of the game a bit mysterious, with Easter eggs lurking around. The intention was to reward players who were keen to explore and solve the enigmas. BIG MISTAKE. Primary became the most 'ditched' release from CKS Games. Players found the game very confusing and condemned the flat-UI design as boring. It finally dawned on me that my core players need a lot of hand-holding. A LOT. Therefore, I've remade Primary with a VERY detailed overlay tutorial. I've also added more special effects and animations to the battle. It also spots a new icon now! However, I'm not changing the flat UI design, because I love it, and it has a special place in my heart. I hope you'll check out the new and improved Primary, and let me know what you think .
