I can't believe there isn't a thread about this?! It's free for the first 24 hours, $1.99 after. Here's their KickStarter post http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stainlessgames/carmageddon-reincarnation/posts/238238 And according to info from Joystiq, it should be released.... Soon! I presume it will be on next week's Thursday launch. Here's joystiq's post: http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/03/carmageddon-cruising-to-ios-android-this-summer/ I really wish there was a way to link these posts together, should I just duplicate it? Look forward to this!
I still have the original and TDR 2000 installed on the PC, looking forward to the iOS port a lot. 1997 ... Was it really that long ago?
"Carmageddon will be coming to your iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad and a variety of Android devices THIS SUMMER!" This thread should be in the Upcoming iPhone and iPod Touch Games forum.
Yeah i'll move it now, confused as it was in the upcoming ipad thread, then someone said it wont be out till next year (Wasnt true thankfully). I'll move this now
It doesn't look like it will be this week. Stainless is going to announce a release date after they have approval from Apple. That way Kickstarter supporters (and everyone else) have a chance to grab it while free.
Wow. Surprised they'd do that with a port of a game that's fairly well known. Nice companion piece to Crazy Taxi. Now I'll be able to do some real damage to those pedestrians in my way.
Very cool. Never got to play the original, but I've heard great things. Yet another game to keep me from playing my other games.
It was part of the Kickstarter for Carma Reincarnation. This is ostensibly so the Kickstarter backers can get it free, but everyone benefits, and they want it publicized as much as possible (which may increase interest in the new one). It definitely shows its age on a PC, but the smaller resolution on iOS is a a plus in this case. I think the rerelease of Re-Volt will give you a rough idea of what to expect, appearance-wise. It isn't an Unreal engine game. It isn't going to win a beauty contest. But assuming the controls are competent, it will be well worth the regular price, let alone free.
Yep its often mentioned in several books as it was very very famous when it originally came out. I'm really looking forward to it, again having some retro classic (revamped) on my portable device is a dream. Roll on tomorrow night! Edit - Its out in NZ ! Roll on 12am tonight now ! http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=160983
