Going on the video, this certainly looks like some authentic arcade goodness. Have to wonder what the controls are and how well they work, but certainly tempted to take the chance.
No fiddly virtual joypad here, the whole screen area can be used. Just touch in the direction relative to the player. This screenshot may explain it better...
Hey there Gave it a go as i used to love Q*bert. Great little game but I don't really like the controls too much. A few times I jumped right off. An option to stroke the screen diaganally would work better for me as that's what I was instinctively doing. I'll give it another go though.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll code that up and see how it feels. My main concern is that strokes are slower than taps, but if it's good then I'll put it in as an option in an update
Looks good but give me 'No fiddly virtual joypad here' anytime over just tapping the screen. Once the update is out i'll probably give it a go, huge fan of Q-Bert style games
Just a quick note, update submitted to Apple, I'll update once again when it's gone live. The update contains two additional control methods, swipe diagonally - which I have to say works very well, and a virtual joystick. Also now has enhanced graphics for the retina iPad. Oh, and as it's approaching Christmas, the price has been slashed to $0.99 USD / 0.89 / £0.69.
Just tried it with and i have to say it controls beautifully. I doubt even Minter could've done that better. An absolute Q*Bert style gem.
