Man, at the Maverick level this gets really difficult. That is probably as it should be, but I am not finishing tasks hardly at all at this level.

I really want to like this game, but at its core it's just a simple word finding game with a noir design style. I really wish it had actual gameplay that was related to detective cases. As it stand now, it's very basic and doesn't do a whole lot that's new or unique.
Actual gameplay- create words and score points within a specified time limit. Score enough experience and you unlock a new tougher level. That's it. Basic concept that works well, but the aesthetic could have been almost anything... Sci-fi, western, horror, modern, and yes even detective noir. |

A bit off topic, but I posted my review for this game on the US App Store over 2 days ago and it has not been posted yet. I have never noticed a delay near that long in getting a review posted. In fact there are no reviews yet or ratings for Pulp Diction HD. Does Apple individually inspect every review? Has anyone else left a review for this in the US?
Back to topic - toxiccheese : yes, the game is a pretty basic word game, but I think it is very well done from its style to how the word selection is implemented. Also, I have not seen some of the types of goals it offers in any of the numerous IOS word games I have played. It is not my favorite IOS word game, but Pulp Diction has kept me engaged for a number of hours already. It has been a while since I tried a new word game that has kept me interested for more then a few minutes. Last edited by slewis7; 10-15-2012 at 07:39 AM.. |
