    howdy.
we (the codder and me) made the little oldschool lcd game "lambrettinis" a long time ago and always wanted to make another iphone game.

i talked about that again and again in this thread.
we had ideas, but nothing kicked us (and we didn`t have any time for things, which weren`t kicking).

but a few month ago, we had a really nice idea and started it.
first, we didn´t know, if it is technical possible to do that with an iphone; but it works.

i can´t say much about the gameplay in the moment, because it`s something really new (we hope so), but you can have a look at the graphics of the game if you like to:
at my "official" facebooksite i`ll post there "work in progress" graphics and illustrations and informations about the game (and about some other stuff of mine. mostly i worked at board- and cardgames).

i also will post here at toucharcede some stuff, but i didn`t want to put to much time into the "preview" of the game. i told you, i`m really short of time.

ok, some short information about the game:
the player is a zombie and don`t fear nothing expect pink bunnies.

"oh, a zombie game?! how original…"
    "pink bunnies? booooooring!"

yeah, you`re right. there must be ten millions of zombiegames out there. and to put some pink bunnies into it doesn`t sounds better.

we thought about it, but zombies fits into the theme (and i like zombies, especially the old ones like "dawn of the dead". and zombies have to be BLUE!).
and zombiekilling pinkbunnies seems to be nice (and they are easy to draw).

the whole illustrations of the game will be hand-drawing 2D.

and no, it won`t be a retrostyled game.

ok, back to work. i hope, we will release the game at the end of this month!

    aloha from germany,
    maura

    hm?!
just had a view at the itunesstore:
zombie vs. plants, zombies vs. lambs, zombies vs. whatever…

is there anything, that wasn`t in a zombiegame before?

for my excuse i must say, that i haven`t so much games on my iphone.

well, i know, that it will be hard to be original if we make a zombiegame, but as i wrote, it fits to the gameplay.
never mind, the animations are done, hope you`ll like it nevertheless.

oh, we could have use a crashtestdummy as the gamecharacter. but this isn`t really sexy.
and what should be the enemies? walls? cars?
    nah, a zombie is ok.

today, i`ll finish the gamemenues (i hope so), then some betatesting and the game is ready for apples review.

    selfmotivating!!!

oh, i didn`t google, if there is a game with our gameplay out there.
i`m a little bit frightened, that somebody done this before.

    uff, the mainscreen is ready.
the gametitle is still secret (behind the black area).
i hope, the other screens won`t be so much time-consuming (the screen doesn`t looks so complicated, but i`m a little bit tired and outburned, so it takes really long to make.)

Lemme guess the name... Bunnies vs Zombies :p

    Edit:

"Tab your name"?? WTH does that mean? :p

You'd do really well to have some testers from toucharcade here.

    ehm…
    no!

yeah, my english is just some kind of english. the codder`s english is much better, so he will make the finetuning.
the meaning of "tab your name!" should be, that you can insert your name there. i tried to use the same number of letters for the sentence you can us for your name.
ok, we will change that. ;)

seems to be a good idea.;)
i`ll contact you, if you like to.

    funny, but… no.

btw. the game will have game center and open feint.
don`t know, if this is good or not. seems, that some people like that.

    What about Zombie's Day Out?

And yeah, this game does look sweet. Would love to test if there's ever a beta call. :)

Yea TA beta testers are the best! Most of us have tens or hundreds of tested games! For me it is 10. Send me PM if you want me to test it, but I recommend to make it open beta over here, like open for applications.

the support here at toucharcarde from the people is really great.
i was really surprized about that when our first little game reached the store.
that`s one reason, why it is so much fun to make games for the iphone.

regarding the betatesting: i´m a little bit affraid about the feedback.
not that i don`t like feedback or good ideas or something like that. it`s just, that we haven`t so much time. i have to start a new project now (illustrations and graphics for a boardgame), so i reall like to end this game soon.

and if i get mails like " well, the game is nice, but it would be good, if you do this and that…"
and you are right, it could be a little bit depressing.
on the other hand, it also wouldn`t be good, if the game won`t be so good as it could be.

    arg, difficult decision!

hm, back to work. still some work to do, before we can think about the betatesting.

we still need a name for our "company".
do a team of two (the coder and me) needs a companyname?
    sure.
and t-shirts, caps and fluffy mascots.
    ok, back to work.
btw. feel free to criticize anything a posted here. i can handle that (expect jokes about my english! ;) )

Well if you do need beta testers, I'm willing to help. Got a handful of different devices to test on as well. :)

PS> I am really digging the art style - don't worry about what others have done, just make your game the best it can be!

    thanks!

we make some big steps the last few days.
two days ago, i had a little crisis and thought, that the whole game is a big bag of crap. but this is normal for me.

now everything is fine again, i like the game.

we also have a "company" logo now:
as i wrote, we are just two people and we only made one game since now, so it`s not to serious with the company.

mostly of the graphics are done, just an icon, the help screen and a randomize house are missing.
next week, we will polish the gameplay and then, we will think about betatesting it.

ok, here`s a drawing for the about screen.
what´s the sense of making a game if you aren`t part of it?

Hrhr, I love the sense of humor you convey in the thread. Makes you such a sympathetic developer already.
    I like that ^^
Totally laid back, yet focussed when it comes to the own game. I love the style, kinda like caseys contraptions with the outlines and such (which I totally dig) but zombified. Not negative, I just collect each and every image of games in a similar style and your project is no exception :D

However I hate Zombie games ;)
Hope you'll do a next game without these creatures !

Fellow german dev high five !~~~

Always knew you were a zombie! No human could ever speak such bad english!! :p

Really well done though. Looking forward to the game made by my favorite german dev ;)

(I only know one german dev btw :p)

which humor? i`m german and you should know, that we germans haven`t any sense of humor!
didn`t you watch the old hollywood movies about the war? or any kind of movie with germans in it!
(love the germans in the big lebowski ^^)

me too. zombie here, zombie there.
but as i wrote, unfortunately the zombiestheme fits to the game.
and i didn`t have so much games at my iphone, so i haven`t any other zombiegame and be so bored by them.
but if i had a look at "upcominggames", i know what you mean.
it seems, that every second games is a zombiegame.

but it`s to late to change that. you lose bodyparts in our game (instead lifes), so there isn`t any possibility to use an other character (expect a crashtestdummy, but i think, that wouldn`t be a good choice).

hey, there is just one zombie (=you) in the game, but a bunch of pink rabbits.

    hehe, that`s a good explanation…
    and an absolutly impertinence. ;)

hey, i know some german coders and sebi (the other guy) is definitely my favourite coder, too.
and of course i`m my favourite german iphone graphic-designer.

well, and are there any news about the game?
hm, it works, some graphics are still missing, but i finished the about screen.
too sad, that i have to make a boxcover for a boardgame this night.

but i found the time for a pink bunny games facebooksite:

    Pink Bunny Games

but i didn`t have any time for content.

there will be now two sites; one (maura kalusky) for boardgame- and other design done by me and pink bunny for iphone only.
the coder will also post his commentaries there…
and his english is really english! ;)

done a betatesting in the pub (yeah, with a lot of GERMAN beer) and it seems, that the game is alright.
but also, there are a lot of good ideas (hell, i`m really afraid of that).

ok,, notice the ideas and finish the game as soon as possible.
all the good things will follow.
time to sleep (it`s 5 o`clock in the morning here in germany. god bless bremen!).

Well me being from the same origin I tell you I think it's funny :p

I just hope you'll be having a nice website soon that I can bookmark and follow progress. As well as the allmighty twitterthing.

Just finish this zombiegame and then never do anything similar again. I'll buy every game

upps, i didn`t notice that your are from germany and that you are an iphone dev too. shame on me.
i`m a little bit confused the last days/weeks.
oh, and today, i hung-over (see my last commentary!)

hm, website?! the problem is, that somebody has to do this.
i worked as a freelancer since 2003 and my own website is a catastrophe in flash.
so i don`t think that we will make a special website for th game.
we will post any information about the game at our facebooksite.
and i have a twitteraccount. but i don`t like twitter so much.

    arg, zombiebombie.

ok, and now some more informations about the progress of the game:
the coder made some changes at the gameplay and told me, that it`s a lot better now. don`t see the new version, but i believe him.

    missing graphics:
    helpscreen
    icon
    brain
    zombieshield
    randomisehouse
annibunny (my girlfriend as a bunny. nerds think, that girlfriends like that…^^)
maybe some stuff for the back- and foreground.

hm, not so much to do.

maybe we`ll release the game end of th month.
i think, i should start a new thread for the game then. "not a retro LCD game like the lambrettinis" isn`t the best title.

just had a meeting with the coder…
wow, it seems that we will finish the game really soon.
i think, we can start the betatesting next week.

exciting, what other people will thinks about the game.

we still have a lot of ideas, but we stop insert new stuff.

finish it, polish it and everything else will be in updates.
