This is the older version, right? nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #4 nightc1, Nov 29, 2012 Yes this is the older game, Prelude came out last month. This one doesn't have IAP... Prelude does. Both though I think are original... though I need to invest some time to verify. ninjackid Well-Known Member May 27, 2010 9,380 2 38 #5 ninjackid, Nov 29, 2012 This worth my buck? nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #6 nightc1, Nov 29, 2012 I'm finishing the download right now since my net speed at home is slow and had to be dedicated to Jet Set Radio last night. Will play some at lunch (though not a ton of time since JSR is where my attention is going ). Feedback on the game though is pretty mixed with the majority loving the game. I see the purchase though as a combo of loving the genre and I wanted to throw a tiny bit of support to the dev after giving away Galactic Phantasy Prelude last week. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #7 nightc1, Nov 29, 2012 Ok, I played some of the game... but just the initial training level and the first mission. Unlike Galaxy on Fire, this is more akin to a turn based rpg. You have guns to fire and shields... and you control the distance you sit from the enemy and which enemy you are firing on. You don't have to actually pilot the ship... though you do get some control by changing which ship you are firing on and so on which are all flying around in 3d space. There's an energy component that you have to time when you want to recharge the energy used for firing the weapons which disables firing and shields (forcing you to distance yourself from the enemy). Overall, it's pretty solid thus far. My only gripe is sometimes the text goes by a little fast... which may make it better on older hardware if the timing is based on the processor (like the old PC days). Jet Set Radio is taking most of my gaming attention right now, but for $1, I think it was worth it thus far for Galactic Phantasy... plus I wanted to support the dev. Just don't go into it thinking it's another Galaxy on Fire type game because it's more of a strategy RPG. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
