Seems unlikely, Given everything Square-Enix have said about the localisation cost of this game. But, I also live in hope that we will see an English release of this someday, And maybe a 3DS release also : Confused:

The problem with that version is that the localisation is not up to the standard of more recent DQ games and things like spell names are different. I mean, I guess they could use it, But DQ localisations are a much higher standard now than when the ps1 version was released. I think we would have seen the 3ds version released already if they were going to go that route. I want to be wrong, As I so want to play this.

Yeah, I am. Had to slug through TGS write-ups first, plus this DQ is longer than the others. I want to say tomorrow?

    Cool! Can't wait.

Give us a sneak peak. Is the port good? Please tell me the framerate is better than in VIII.

Much better port than DQ8, but that's no surprise because the original 3DS version developers, Arte Piazza, handled it rather than TOSE. I've seen the framerate drop a little in certain places, but pretty much the same places it did on 3DS. Generally, it runs silky smooth. I did a stream on Mobcrush that should be archived if you want to see the game in action.

    Nice! Thanks!

I wonder if the game is doing well. I couldn't find any video on YouTube.

It's kicking butt in the charts, but that's usual for Japan. Just about every DQ game permanently sits in the top paid apps charts in Japan, often occupying a large portion of the top 30 games rankings.

I started watching the Mobcrush archives stream while running, but my iPad doesn't like the latest update. It kept freeIng. I'll have to finish it later on my phone. Any reason I couldn't hear the game's audio? Do you prefer playing without the audio on, or is it for the stream's sake? I was excited to hear the soundtrack behind you!

Square's recent games don't play well with the Mobcrush client. I can hear audio on my end, but it doesn't stream out.

Ah, bummer. Well at least you can hear it while you stream. It'd be terrible if we both couldn't hear it! Can't believe you can play it with no onscreen controls taking up space. Looks gorgeous.
