Is it worth grabbing? Connector Well-Known Member May 6, 2012 15,512 1 0 In the Chatroom http://thechatroom.freeforums.net/ #3 Connector, Mar 2, 2013 Is it worth my buck? Although, fair warning, if you are not into getting 3 stars in a level, there's no chance you can 3-star succeeding levels. You have to try get 3 stars for the current levels you are in to gain the needed coins to unlock flips and tricks that will make you 3-star the succeeding levels. Kinda like passive grinding, which is good, but can only happen if you try to 3-star levels. Kinda like a very stylish Zombie Parkour Runner with superb realistic animations. It could definitely use some achievements. Mr. Charley Well-Known Member Sep 6, 2008 2,633 38 38 #9 Mr. Charley, Mar 2, 2013 Awww. Too bad. Thanks for quick response shero89 Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2012 1,020 0 36 #10 shero89, Mar 2, 2013 So is this the same as the free HD version but without ads ? Greyskull Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2009 5,588 1 38 Photographer/Social Sciences adjunct/sweet sweet l Fort Lauderdale #11 Greyskull, Mar 2, 2013 Grabbed it. Dunno about the difference; the free version does have a coin system. Didn't know about having to 3 star stuff, that sucks...still one of the more elegantly designed semi-endless runners (goal-oriented runners?) in the appstore. Nobunaga Well-Known Member Jun 2, 2012 1,094 0 0 #12 Nobunaga, Mar 2, 2013 Pretty much. I think the ads are the only difference. So I guess you can try before you buy. At $.99 I'd say it's worth a go. I was pretty offended when an update to the game decreased the value of coin drops. They did add a system where you get a set amount of coins for completing levels. One star is worth a little, 2 stars is worth more, 3 stars more. I get the impression that even if you 3 star levels you'll have to go back and do some random coin collecting to get enough to upgrade your tricks and get three stars on subsequent levels. The mode for getting coins is less than ideal. The game itself is stellar if you're into auto runners. The only competition this game has is mirrors edge and complex r. The controls are responsive, the animations are super smooth and the levels are really well designed. If not for the obligatory grind or possible IAP to get coins this would blow all the similar games out of the water. That's my opinion anyways. shero89 Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2012 1,020 0 36 #13 shero89, Mar 2, 2013 Thanks!! bought it after trying the free version, for a buck not a bad deal at all Greyskull Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2009 5,588 1 38 Photographer/Social Sciences adjunct/sweet sweet l Fort Lauderdale #14 Greyskull, Mar 2, 2013 One major difference between this and Mirror's Edge is the...I dunno, 500 meg or so size difference leonheart1 Active Member Aug 16, 2009 44 0 0 #15 leonheart1, Mar 3, 2013 Just tried the free version and I could not understand how people prefer Mirror's Edge to this. Mirror's Edge for the iPad was also only 99 cents when it was on sale. Pros: Ads were surprisingly not that intrusive, only popping up after you beat a level. Graphics and atmosphere are quite unique. Cons: The real killer, as others have mentioned, is how you have to keep replaying levels to get coins. The premium edition promises more coins but as someone said - they decreased the coin value with an update. Who knows how much they'll keep dropping it by? Sure, it's only a buck but so are thousands of other apps - most of which don't require further IAP unlocks to avoid grinding.
