http://twitter.com/cave_world_en http://www.cave-world.com/en/games/espgaluda2.html Date: April 10 Price: $4.99 in Japan only (launch price only, $8.99 after that) Following its launch, a single stage free demo will also be made available. Details Cave is readying two modes of play: iPhone and Arcade. Arcade mode replicates the arcade version. iPhone Mode adds a new "Awakening Pulse" system, where you tap the screen to send out a pulse that transform enemy bullets into spirit stones. The game also supports an internet ranking mode via the OpenFeint system. Controls As the game is sheer havoc with the amount of sprites rendered having your finger obscure any part of the gameplay screen would be a big no-no. That is why a trackpad-like control system is implemented at the bottom of the vertically held screen, enabling you to still have precise control but without any of the actual gameplay being obscured. Some bad news Oh, and now for some bad (but expected) news for certain ipod owners. The game is designed for 3GS and touch 3rd gen. This was to be expected because bullet hells really push a system with the crazy amount of sprites that are displayed at any one time, and keeping a stable framerate of 60fps at all times is a must. The game will run on older models, but it will be unplayable due to the choppy framerate.
Holy cow! I don't know how they are going to have this thing be controlled without your fingers obscuring the screen into unplayability, and I really can't see motion control working for something with the level of precision required in a Cave shmup, but I'm definitely looking forward to finding out!

Wow, that looks like so much win. It looks you can use the bottom part off screen to control the ship as well, so your fingers don't intrude too much on the gameplay. Hope this comes out soon, there hasn't been a real bullet hell shooter on the iDevice yet.
Or they can implant the touch and drag type of control. Since the bottom part of the screen is open for use then your finger may not need to be exactly on the aircraft, utilizing the button part of the screen as a trackpad on Laptop.
