Inspired by classic arcade games, Alien Space Retro combines the best of old and new, bringing dual-stick shooter gameplay to a new level. Your mission: Pilot your ship into the heart of enemy space and destroy anything that gets in your way. The game features: -amazing retro-inspired graphics -fast-paced gameplay -upgradeable ship systems and weapons -multiple weapon types to choose from -30 campaign levels -Survival mode -Normal and Hard difficulty levels -leaderboards and achievements through Game Center -silky smooth controls -listen to your iTunes music while you play -new gameplay modes and weapons available through in-app purchases The challenge: Unlike other shooters where the best the enemy AI can do is to run into you, Alien Space Retro offers a wide variety of enemies wielding the same weapons available to you, and then some. Blasters, lasers, tractor beams, missiles, photon torpedos… they'll throw everything they can at you. Are you up to the task? What are people saying? ---------------------------------------- "It’s not easy releasing a new game into a genre that is literally flooded with great games, but Alien Space managed to hold its own against the competition with excellent controls, interesting enemies, cool weapons, and a great upgrade system" -TouchArcade "Those charismatic new visuals may be the main selling point, but the gameplay is as fun, frantic, and satisfying as ever." -PocketGamer "Alien Space Retro’s strength comes not just from its aesthetically-pleasing vector graphics, but also its gameplay, which is at times deeper than other dual-stick shooters." -148Apps "Fantastic atmosphere, great sounds, and visual effects" - (5 stars) -iTunes reviewer "This game is top shelf, most stuff in the app store does not even compare. More games like this one need to be made" - (5 stars) -iTunes reviewer "If you like Dual Stick Space Shooters, this is one you should get" - (5 stars) -iTunes reviewer Information Seller:Owens Rodriguez Genre:Action, Arcade Release:Jul 15, 2011 Updated:May 06, 2013 Version:3.2 Size:15.5 MB TouchArcade Rating: User Rating: (13) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal Capsizing Heart Well-Known Member Jul 21, 2011 316 0 0 Student. I get a black screen for several seconds, then I hear brief music and it crashes. I tried restarting and even re-downloading to no avail. I'm running 4.2.1 jailbroken. Monday it goes back up to $0.99. The game has been doing incredibly well, with Apple featuring it in several places on iTunes. So, this is really just sort of an experiment in App Store dynamics, you might call it. I mean, the game isnt really designed to be freemium, but if it turns out the IAPs do well enough so that the game can still make some money even at free... then I might consider keeping it there longer, who knows. Anyway, I hope you guys that havent played the game for financial reasons or whatever can now check it out, and I hope you like it. AlienSpace Well-Known Member May 28, 2010 416 0 16 Independent developer http://www.facebook.com/pages/Alien-Space/317119518856 #10 AlienSpace, Aug 14, 2011 The funny thing is I had no plans to ever change the price, I only just thought yesterday that it might be an interesting test to do this for a couple of days to see how it goes. But of course, if you like the game and decide to get any of the IAPs, that's always much appreciated. As a 1-person indie developer, I can assure you it all goes directly into supporting more game development. Arghh, I'm honestly not sure how the jailbreaking might be affecting this. Did you try completely re-starting the device? sapphire_neo Well-Known Member Jan 20, 2011 3,936 0 0 #11 sapphire_neo, Aug 14, 2011 If it's any consolation, I only thought this would go free because a. It's 99c b. It's iAP driven c. The original game went free I'm liking it so far, but I'm gong to have to decide on the iAP after getting a clearer picture. With the weapon packs as IAP... there was really no need to have a entry fee for the game. This basically makes the game pricing like Tilt To Live HD. I am sure most who got the game and the classic mode would have paid up the cash for the other modes if they liked what they got in the classic mode. Same should be true here. Am sure the dev will make more money in this model KiwiGummy Well-Known Member Nov 18, 2010 116 0 0 #16 KiwiGummy, Nov 7, 2011 It's the featured game on FAAD today! http://faad.com/ spidey Well-Known Member Jun 24, 2010 964 2 0 India #17 spidey, Nov 8, 2011 great game.
